This is just a quick article to help those of you who are already using Microsoft Windows 7 and are looking for extra security for your PC. Firstly we do not work for Kaspersky or have we been “paid to post” this article, I do however regard Kaspersky Anti-Virus very highly after using Kaspersky products for years i cant begin to tell you how many virus, malicious software and malicious websites Kaspersky has saved me from.

Not only are you helping protect your PC from virus and other nasties you will also be shaping the future releases of Kaspersky by providing the Kaspersky labs with important statistics and feedback.

Here is a great list of open source (Free Software) for Windows 7, and i must say some of these applications come in very handy. These are classed as silent installers for Windows 7, meaning that if you create custom Windows 7 ISO’s you can include these open source programs in your unattended windows 7 installation (we will cover unattended windows 7 installations at a later date), however these can be installed as they are once downloaded.

Realtek R2.21 Windows 7
Just a quick Windows 7 driver update, Realtek have posted new HD audio drivers the new R2.21 drives are showing some good results and are showing much better compatibility under Windows 7, While these drivers are not marked “Windows 7″ you need to download the Vista 64 bit or Vista 32 bit drivers, These work fine under Microsoft windows 7.

It may take a few minutes to download as Realtek are quite slack with their servers, anyhow i have personally seen better results and no more random resets under a few game titles so i highly recommend you download these if you have a Realtek HD sound card.
