Windows 7 Über Mode!
Apparently their is a “secret” control panel within windows 7, Here is the info on how to access it…
Here’s how you enable it:
Create a new folder (right-click and click on “New Folder”). Right-click on the folder and click on rename, copy and paste this: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
What comes up is a Control Panel like window with sections for Action Center (“Check security status” and so on), Administrative Tools, and AutoPlay.
Nothing major, frankly, but interesting. Use at your own risk, of course.

Microsoft CEO Ballmer says Windows 7 sales are double its predecessors
Looks like Microsoft’s new OS is off to a great start.
Microsoft’s CEO Steve Ballmer was on hand for the company’s annual shareholder’s meeting in Washington, and news of Windows 7 sales came up right away. While delivering the opening remarks, Ballmer said that Microsoft has sold twice as many copies of Win 7 as any previous Microsoft OS in a comparable time frame. That’s including both OEM sales and boxed retail copies, of course, and though no specific numbers were mentioned, the good news isn’t completely unexpected as pre-orders were through the roof. Windows 7 Free for 120 Days
In a recent article post on Windows Secrets, its possible to rearm Windows 7’s 30 day activation period three times (without violating the EULA), giving you 120 days before needing to activate Windows 7. With this method, users of Windows 7 can legally use any version until the RTM hits the stores in October.
To view how many days you have left in your grace period, simply go to the System Information page (right click “My Computer” and click Properties). When that number gets close to zero, go to your accessories and right click “Command Prompt” and click “Run as Administrator.”
After, type in “slmgr -rearm” without quotes. Then hit enter and restart Windows 7. You will now have 30 more days left, and it can be used twice more before you need to active your Windows 7.
However, beware. Install the version of Windows 7 that are planning to buy. On Windows Secrets, the post explains that if you install Ultimate and re-arm it three times, you will need to activate it with an Ultimate key. You cannot use a Home Premium key to activate Ultimate, so unless you want to shell out for Ultimate, install the version that are planning to buy.

Windows 7 Starter Edition Could price itself out of the Market
Windows 7 starter edition, could be a tool to spread windows 7 everywhere on low cost mobile devices, however OEM’s are reporting that Microsoft is planning on charging $45-55 for starter edition, this might not seem like alot, however when they can install Linux for free this is a steep cost. Previously Microsoft was charging around $15 for windows XP. If Microsoft wants windows 7 to become the standard for netbooks, which it has spent much time optimizing windows 7 for, this could be a serious problem as many oem’s may pass on it due to high cost. Perhaps the pricing strategy will be revisited, only time will tell.

Their are reports that a new version of windows 7 has been leaked. Their are reports that this new version is already making its way around various p2p networks, however at this time it appears only a 32 bit version has been leaked.

Windows 7, Build 7137 Leaked
Its been awhile since their has been a leak of a new version of windows 7, it seems the the release of the RC has satisfied most people for awhile. But earlier today a new build appeared on various p2p networks. It is made available as both 32 bit, as well as the 64 bit version. The build string 7137.0.090521-1745 shows us that the version was compiled under a week ago on May 21.
People who downloaded this latest build should as always be away of modified version.. here is the hash of the good one to make sure yours wasn’t modified.

Microsoft to Remove 3 App Limit in starter version
Microsoft has reportedly dropped the so called 3 app limit in the starter version of windows7. This “feature” was only present on the starter version of windows 7, which was intended for use on netbooks. Microsoft has not confirmed that they are dropping the 3 app limit, however it was the feature that has earned them the most criticism about their new OS. They have also published the “maximum specs” for netbooks which is the highest hardware specs available to let them still run the starter/netbook edition of windows 7.
Screen size: With XP and Vista
, maximum allowable screen size was 12.1 inches; with Windows 7, it will be 10.2 inches
Storage: Maximum limits for XP and Vista: 160 GB HDD or 32 GB SDD; with Windows 7, it will be 250 GB HDD or 64 GB SDD
Graphics: With XP and Vista, netbooks/small notebooks was “less than or equal to DX9; with Windows 7, there will be no limitation
CPUs: With XP and Vista, netbooks/small notebooks had to have “single core processors that do not exceed 1 GHz frequency, or Intel Atom (N270, N280, 230, Z500, Z510, Z515, Z520, Z530, Z540, Z550); Intel Celeron 220; AMD (MV-40, 1050P, TF-20, Geode LX, Athlon 2650e, Sempron 210U); VIA (C7-M ULV, Nano U1700, U2250, U2300, U2400 or U2500). With Windows 7, the maximum will be “single core processors that do not exceed 2 GHz frequency, and have a CPU thermal design power that is less than or equal to 15 W, not including the graphics and chipset.”
