Windows 7 BSOD

Since the last update of Microsoft Windows 7, the infominus BSOD (Blue Screen Of Death) has made an appearance and has sent shockwaves through the Windows 7 community. Microsoft promised a few months ago that Windows 7 would not have any BSOD errors. Many people are contacting us and asking how to fix the Windows 7 BSOD (Windows 7 Blue Screen Error) so here is the most common reason your are receving the Microsoft Windows 7 BSOD.  The Windows 7 BSOD / Windows 7 error should read as follows: k11.sys error Microsoft have confirmed that this error is popping up due to a conflict with Kaspersky Antiviris for Windows 7 & also Kaspersky Internet Security for Windows 7.

In order to fix the Windows 7 BSOD you need to do the following:

  • Start your pc in safe mode (press the F8 key on your keyboard a few times as the computer starts up)
  • boot up in safe mode in Windows 7 (use “with networking”  if the crash still occurs, try without networking)
  • Once the system has booted, click the Start button and type MSCONFIG then press enter in Windows Vista (in Windows XP, click the Start button, then click “Run” and type MSCONFIG then press enter)
  • Go to the startup tab
  • Disable Kaspersky and any related items (e.g. kl1.sys), then press OK, then restart the system if it does not happen automatically. Startup normally (i.e. not in safe mode)

Now this is the only known fix for now, however you can download a daily build of Kaspersky technical preview, this problem should be fixed shortly (in the coming days/weeks) Kaspersky for Windows 7 is a very popular Anti virus / Internet Security program for all versions of Microsoft Windows so Kaspersky should be on top of this soon enough, we believe even Microsoft is trying to help out on this on due to the sheer amount of people who choose this to keep their PC’s protected and defend against hackers.
