Windows 7, Build 7137 Leaked
Its been awhile since their has been a leak of a new version of windows 7, it seems the the release of the RC has satisfied most people for awhile. But earlier today a new build appeared on various p2p networks. It is made available as both 32 bit, as well as the 64 bit version. The build string 7137.0.090521-1745 shows us that the version was compiled under a week ago on May 21.
People who downloaded this latest build should as always be away of modified version.. here is the hash of the good one to make sure yours wasn’t modified.

Microsoft to Remove 3 App Limit in starter version
Microsoft has reportedly dropped the so called 3 app limit in the starter version of windows7. This “feature” was only present on the starter version of windows 7, which was intended for use on netbooks. Microsoft has not confirmed that they are dropping the 3 app limit, however it was the feature that has earned them the most criticism about their new OS. They have also published the “maximum specs” for netbooks which is the highest hardware specs available to let them still run the starter/netbook edition of windows 7.
Screen size: With XP and Vista
, maximum allowable screen size was 12.1 inches; with Windows 7, it will be 10.2 inches
Storage: Maximum limits for XP and Vista: 160 GB HDD or 32 GB SDD; with Windows 7, it will be 250 GB HDD or 64 GB SDD
Graphics: With XP and Vista, netbooks/small notebooks was “less than or equal to DX9; with Windows 7, there will be no limitation
CPUs: With XP and Vista, netbooks/small notebooks had to have “single core processors that do not exceed 1 GHz frequency, or Intel Atom (N270, N280, 230, Z500, Z510, Z515, Z520, Z530, Z540, Z550); Intel Celeron 220; AMD (MV-40, 1050P, TF-20, Geode LX, Athlon 2650e, Sempron 210U); VIA (C7-M ULV, Nano U1700, U2250, U2300, U2400 or U2500). With Windows 7, the maximum will be “single core processors that do not exceed 2 GHz frequency, and have a CPU thermal design power that is less than or equal to 15 W, not including the graphics and chipset.”

Security Hole Found In Windows 7?
According to Chinese researchers at 360 security, a security hole has been discovered in Windows 7. This is described as the first zero-day vulnerability discovered in windows 7. Microsoft however has not issued a statement either confirming or denying this find, so this story could be proven wrong. Their is not much information available about the security hole, except that it is able to create blue screens when opening or closing windows due to incompatibility with old code from windows 3.1
The graphical interfaces system of Windows 7 RC contains old codes from Windows 3.1 where security is not considered when developed. When Microsoft optimizes the graphical interfaces of Windows 7, the incompatibility with old codes leads the system to blue screen.
Attackers will be able to firstly invade the System server of certain object to launch the attack, or to make a potential opportunity for a second attack. Thus, the security hole is a greater threat for the firm and government customers who’re using Windows 7 RC.

Microsoft Confirms Launch for the Holidays
Microsoft has confirmd that windows 7 is on track for a holiday release. It looks like microsoft is shooting for a december launch date so they can capitalize on the holiday shopping blitz, so far the rc1 status and feedback seem to be good so nothing is getting delayed. Time will tell if they will make their deadline but so far rc1 seems very stable so it seems like this deadline is very possible.

RC 1 Is Officially Here
After much anticipation Microsoft has officially released Windows 7 rc1, this brings us one step closer to general launch of this much anticipated replacement for windows vista. The release candidate does not expire until June 1st 2010 that should give everyone plenty of time to play with it and have fun.
Windows 7 RC Upgrade

Microsoft have released a few statements on how to upgrade your operating system from Windows 7 beta to Windows 7 RC, but with no magic way of upgrading so today we are going to explain your options.
Long story short Microsoft Windows 7 developers have even suggested you will be better off to just do a clean install. Anyway here are a few to things to keep in mind when upgrading or installing a new operating system.
Please first and foremost make sure to save your important work files, documents, multimedia files and or customizations to a storage device such as another hard drive, usb stick or you can even burn a cd/dvd. You are able to use Windows 7 Easy Transfer tool, this backup tool is a new backup tool included with Windows 7. Microsoft have added a few words of caution about using this tool when backing up from Windows 7 beta, as the code may change with the new builds there is no guarantee that this will be a 100% safe method to back up for now.
